My first group coaching program grew out of five massive failures in a row!

At the time, I was running a done-for-you digital marketing agency. And I had gotten really good at systems and team building. So good that I was working less than 2 hours per week!

I know, that sounds like success, right?

Then people started asking me,

“Chris, how do you have so much free time?” and,

“Chris, how can you possibly afford your lifestyle when you hardly ever work?”

So, I started helping other digital agency owners build, staff and systemize their businesses. I made even more money but I was getting overwhelmed working 14 to 16 hour days while sacrificing my health and my family. I knew I had to change my business model in a significant way.

Time to sell info products, right? Well…

I launched five different digital products. Spent over $100,000 in ad costs alone and literally thousands of work hours. After five years, I sold 1, uno, boja, un, wahed, one single $2,000 e-course. And the person that purchased it never even logged in to view the material!

After five failed attempts over five years straight, I felt like the biggest failure ever. I gave it a break.

Then, one day, I was a student, in a high-ticket mastermind in Boise, Idaho.

I paid “new car money” to be in a group of truly wonderful digital entrepreneurs who were selling millions per year in info products. I got up in front of that mastermind group on the first day and told everyone what had happened in the previous years. Within five minutes, everyone told me I needed to start a high-ticket group coaching program, or mastermind, of my own. I should teach my expertise to a group and let the success happen from there.

My big question was, “Why not just create info products like each of you are doing?” They said, “You’re doing it backwards. You see, success like we’re having didn’t just come from building a product behind a website and running traffic to it. You need to start with a Mastermind!”

Over the next several days, they explained to me how to build a high-ticket group coaching program (or mastermind) while getting paid, organically proving exactly what the market will buy AND changing real lives at the same time!

It worked!!!

Seven weeks later, I filled my first mastermind group and had a fresh $35,000 in my PayPal account!

I now live by 3 simple rules when launching anything:

1. NEVER market alone.
2. ONLY build when you get paid.
3. PROVE organically before automating.

I never looked back. I’ve had the privilege of building, leading, and scaling mastermind groups for our own brands and many others. Once I cracked the code on how to market, monetize, and lead effective masterminds, I started sharing that new knowledge with others.
